97th Stated Meeting of the SWF Presbytery

Monday, November 10th, 2014

*Update 11/10: Added several additional documents for presbytery meeting*
*Update 11/7: Revised docket added to the website*

October 30, 2014

Dear Fathers and Brothers:

The Ninety-Seventh Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Church of the Redeemer in Winter Haven, FL (1410 Dundee Road, Winter Haven, FL 33884; 863-298-9849).

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the meeting at 8:30 a.m. with a Worship Service. Dr. Lloyd Kim, Coordinator-elect for MTW, will preach God’s Word to us. An offering will be received that will be given to defray the cost of Dr. Kim’s visit to us.

Following the Worship Service, Dr. Kim will lead a forum on the topic of “The Mission and Vision of MTW.”

Lunch will be at noon provided by Church of the Redeemer at the church. The purpose of eating lunch together on site at the church is to promote fellowship among fellow presbyters. A donation of $5 for lunch would be appreciated.

Please note several items. First, we will be nominating and electing men to the Class of 2017 for all of our Presbytery Committees. The Administrative Committee has a nominee for Moderator, but not many other nominees for our Committees. Consider serving on a Presbytery Committee, particularly if you are a Ruling Elder. Second, the Presbytery will begin considering a motion to multiply/divide the Presbytery. However, no vote will be taken at this meeting regarding the multiplication/division. That vote will be taken at the February Presbytery meeting. Third, we will debate and vote on the BCO changes that have been sent down by the 42nd General Assembly. And fourth, we will also need to vote on a budget for 2015.

The docket for the meeting is below, along with various attachments. Copies of all materials have been sent to churches, Teaching Elders, Ruling Elders, and others for whom the Stated Clerk has email addresses. Please bring your own copy of the docket and all attachments to the Presbytery Meeting, as the Stated Clerk will not provide them at the meeting.

Finally, please pray that the Lord will bless the work of the Presbytery as we meet in November.

Grace and peace,
Freddy Fritz
Stated Clerk, Presbytery of Southwest Florida
