Dear Fathers and Brothers:

The One Hundred and Second Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sebring, FL (4500 Sun ’n Lake Blvd., Sebring FL 33872; 863-385-3234).

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. with a Worship Service. Our Retiring Moderator, Ruling Elder David Crabtree, has asked Teaching Elder Tim Rice to preach God’s Word to us. The Worship Service will include the Lord’s Supper (per article 8-1 of our Standing Rules) and Memorials (per article 8-2 of our Standing Rules).

Following the Worship Service Teaching Elder Kevin Smith, Senior Pastor of New City Fellowship in Chattanooga, TN, will lead a seminar titled: Racial Reconciliation with application to the Overtures to General Assembly.

Once again, there is not much business on the Docket for this Stated Meeting of the Presbytery.

Therefore, lunch will not be provided, as I expect to adjourn the Presbytery meeting around 12:47 p.m. However, we encourage Presbyters to join together at local restaurants for lunch before heading home.

The docket for the meeting, along with various attachments, will be available at our Presbytery website at: http://swfpresbytery.org/news/. Please check the website before coming to the Presbytery Meeting in order to download all the reports and documents, as they will not be provided at the meeting.

Be aware that the Presbytery agreed at the September 2015 meeting that appropriate attire for the Presbytery meetings is at least business casual.

Dear Fathers and Brothers:

The One Hundred and First Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida will take place on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Grace Community Church in Palm Harbor, FL (2255 Nebraska Avenue, Palm Harbor, FL 34683; 727-789-2124).

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. with a Worship Service. Dr. Stephen Clark, a retired Teaching Elder transferring from the Presbytery of South Florida, will proclaim God’s Word to us. Following the Worship Service, REE Ken Pothoven will lead the Presbytery in a Season of Prayer.

Once again, there is not much business on the Docket for this Stated Meeting of the Presbytery. As you can see from the Docket, I have tried to estimate how much time each docketed item might take. Therefore, lunch will not be provided, as we expect to adjourn the Presbytery meeting around 1:00 p.m. However, we encourage Presbyters to join together at local restaurants for lunch before heading home.

100th Stated Meeting of the SWF Presbytery

Dear Fathers and Brothers:

The One Hundredth Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Petersburg Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg, FL (600 83rd Avenue NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33702; 727-329-6346).

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. with a Worship Service. Mr. Luke Wolfe, a candidate transferring from Missouri Presbytery, will proclaim God’s Word to us. Following the Worship Service, Mr. John R. Muether of RTS Orlando will lead a forum on the topic of “The History of Delegated Assemblies.”

Once again, there is not much business on the Docket for this Stated Meeting of the Presbytery. Lunch will not be provided by St. Petersburg Presbyterian Church, as we expect to adjourn the Presbytery meeting before lunch. However, we encourage Presbyters to join together at local restaurants for lunch before heading home.

Dear Fathers and Brothers:

The Ninety-Ninth Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida will take place on Tuesday, May 12, 2015at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, FL (301 North Florida Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801; 863-603-7777).

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. with a Worship Service. TE Tim Rice, pastor of Trinity PCA, will preach God’s Word to us on the topic of prayer for the lost during the Worship Service. There will be a Season of Prayer following the Worship Service.

There is not much business on the Docket for this Stated Meeting of the Presbytery. Lunch will be at noon provided by Trinity Presbyterian Church at the church. Elders are encouraged to stay for lunch to promote fellowship among fellow presbyters. A donation of $5 for lunch would be appreciated.

Dear Fathers and Brothers:

The Ninety-Eighth Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Seminole Presbyterian Church in Tampa, FL (5107 N. Central Avenue, Tampa, FL 33603; 813-774-3881).

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. with a Worship Service. TE Dwight Dolby, pastor of Auburn Road PCA, and our outgoing Moderator, will preach God’s Word to us. The Worship Service will include the Lord’s Supper (per article 8-1 of our Standing Rules) and Memorials (per article 8-2 of our Standing Rules).

Following the Worship Service, we will have a Season of Prayer for several churches in our Presbytery.

Dr. Stephen Estock, Coordinator of Committee on Discipleship Ministries, will give a brief presentation under the CE Liaison report.

Lunch will be at noon provided by Seminole Presbyterian Church at the church. The purpose of eating lunch together on site at the church is to promote fellowship among fellow presbyters. A donation of $5 for lunch would be appreciated.

Dear Fathers and Brothers:

The Ninety-Sixth Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Riverview, FL (12404 Boyette Road, Riverview, FL 33569; 813-741-1776).

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the meeting at 8:30 a.m. with a Worship Service. TE John Larson, called to be the Associate Pastor at Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tampa, FL will preach the sermon for the Worship Service.

Following the Worship Service, there will be a discussion, led by TE Drew Bennett, Chairman of our MNA Committee, regarding the potential Presbytery multiplication.

Lunch will be at noon, which will be provided by Redeemer PCA. The purpose of eating lunch together on site at the church is to promote fellowship among fellow presbyters.
