Dr. Bryan Chapell, former president of Covenant Theological Seminary and current senior pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Il, joined us for the May 2013 meeting of the Southwest Florida Presbytery. He preached a sermon entitled, “Dying to Live” and led a seminar examining the nature of Christ-centered worship. Both his sermon and his seminar are available here:
At the September 8 meeting of the Southwest Florida Presbytery, Tim Rice, pastor of Trinity Lakeland, preached a compelling message from Galatians 5 on the unity we have in Christ and the mandate that places upon us to love, even in areas where we may not agree with one another.
Dr. Paul Kooistra, coordinator for Mission to the World, spoke on missions at the February meeting of the Southwest Florida Presbytery, including preaching a sermon on Acts 1:1-9. Both his sermon and his seminar are available here.
Note: The seminar has a brief silent period due to technical difficulties at about the 2 minute mark.
Dr. David McWilliams, pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, published a commentary in 2009 on Galatians. We asked Dr. McWilliams to speak at our May 2011 presbytery meeting to share about his research and insights into Galatians. Below are the notes that he used to teach from, along with audio recordings of both the lecture and the Q&A.
