117th Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida

Dear Fathers and Brothers:

The One Hundred and Seventeenth Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, FL (301 North Florida Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801; 863-603-7777).

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the meeting at 8:30 a.m. with a Worship Service. Mr. Brandon Porter, a Candidate for Licensure, will preach the sermon for the Worship Service. The Worship Service will include the Lord’s Supper (per article 8-1 of our Standing Rules) and Memorials (per article 8-2 of our Standing Rules).

Following the Worship Service, we shall have a Season of Prayer for several churches in our Presbytery. This Season of Prayer will be organized in accordance of the suggestion by our Presbytery Health Committee.

Lunch will be at noon, which will be organized by Trinity PCA. The purpose of eating lunch together is to promote fellowship among fellow presbyters.

The docket for the meeting, along with various attachments, is included with this letter. They will also be available at our Presbytery website at: http://swfpresbytery.org/news/. Additional reports will be added to the website prior to the Presbytery Meeting on February 8. Please check the website before coming to the Presbytery Meeting to download all the reports and documents, as they will not be provided at the meeting.

The Presbytery has received a Complaint Against an Action that was taken at the Stated Meeting of the Presbytery on November 12, 2019. This complaint shall be considered by the Presbytery at our February 8, 2020 Stated Meeting of the Presbytery. Presbyters should read the Complaint (which will be on the Presbytery website) so as to be prepared to consider the Complaint at the meeting.
