January 29, 2016
Dear Fathers and Brothers:
The One Hundred and Second Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Southwest Florida will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sebring, FL (4500 Sun ’n Lake Blvd., Sebring FL 33872; 863-385-3234).
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. with a Worship Service. Our Retiring Moderator, Ruling Elder David Crabtree, has asked Teaching Elder Tim Rice to preach God’s Word to us. The Worship Service will include the Lord’s Supper (per article 8-1 of our Standing Rules) and Memorials (per article 8-2 of our Standing Rules).
Following the Worship Service Teaching Elder Kevin Smith, Senior Pastor of New City Fellowship in Chattanooga, TN, will lead a seminar titled: Racial Reconciliation with application to the Overtures to General Assembly.
Once again, there is not much business on the Docket for this Stated Meeting of the Presbytery.
Therefore, lunch will not be provided, as I expect to adjourn the Presbytery meeting around 12:47 p.m. However, we encourage Presbyters to join together at local restaurants for lunch before heading home.
The docket for the meeting, along with various attachments, will be available at our Presbytery website at: http://swfpresbytery.org/news/. Please check the website before coming to the Presbytery Meeting in order to download all the reports and documents, as they will not be provided at the meeting.
Be aware that the Presbytery agreed at the September 2015 meeting that appropriate attire for the Presbytery meetings is at least business casual.
Finally, please pray that the Lord will bless the work of the Presbytery as we meet February.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Freddy Fritz
Stated Clerk, Presbytery of Southwest Florida
